Adolf Hitler- Good Leader or Great Leader?

As the title shows, I will be talking about the aspects of being a great leader, a good leader and what Adolf Hitler was.

Characteristics Of A Good Leader-

1. Good Values-
A good leader is someone who can be trusted to lead others. They have good character and is honest with integrity. They lead by example and earns the right to be a leader. This is especially obvious in the military where high ranking generals have lead from platoon level all the way up to division level.A good leader strives to be the best and not second or third in their group.

2. Confidence-
A good leader is confident about his own abilities. In order to lead a group, the leader needs to show he or she is confident and able to set directions. He/she instills confidence in others which in turns excels them to do the best for the team.

3. Passionate-
A good leader is passionate about his/her work. Leaders are often asked to be motivators and enthusiastic. Without passion for their work, it is difficult to motivate others to do the same. A good leader will lead by example and be willing to do the dirty work.

4. Assurance-
A good leader needs to display order in chaos. Many times, people look to leaders for directions and instructions in times of uncertainty. They look to seek assurance and security and the leader needs to display decisiveness and positive attitude.

5. Persuasion-
A good leader is able to speak in front of the public confidently and these speeches must be persuasive so that the public will be able to build a trust in this person that he has good hopes for this school or country and that he will be able to do well if he is the leader.

6. Visionary-
A good leader is able to think analytically keeping the end result in mind. A good leader needs to keep in mind the big picture while at the same time, breaks it down into actionable steps for others to follow or perform. He also needs to be able to gauge the progress being made and think about the consequences of every action that he does.

7. Gain Respect-
A good leader also needs to remain calm and composed in the face of uncertainty. Other people will look to him for assurance during times of difficulty. He needs to be decisive and follow through on his decisions.

From all these points that I have mentioned above , can you already see and know which type of leader Adolf Hitler is??

He is a great leader, motivating the Germans to fight and take revenge against the 'allies', who defeated them during the World War 1. His motive was to take revenge and to wipe out the Jews. Not only that ,he also had a vision ,that was to raise German to be a global superpower. He had much more visions and also good communication skills , able to motivate and encourage the German army to move forward when they were facing great difficulties and not just fall back and give up easily.

He was a decorated veteran of World War I, Hitler joined the Nazi Party in 1920 and became its leader in 1921. Following his imprisonment after a failed coup in 1923, he gained support by promoting nationalism , antisemitism and anti-communism with charismatic oratory and propaganda.

He was appointed chancellor in 1933, and quickly established a totalitarian and fascist dictatorship. Hitler pursued a foreign policy with the declared goal of seizing Lebensraum ("living space") for Germany, directing the resources of the state toward this goal. His rebuilt Wehrmacht invaded Poland in 1939, leading to the outbreak of World War II in Europe.

Within three years, Germany and the Axis powers occupied most of Europe and large parts of Africa , East and Southeast Asia and the Pacific Ocean. However, the Allies gained the upper hand from 1942 onward and in 1945 Allied armies invaded Germany from all sides. His forces committed numerous atrocities during the war, including the systematic killing of as many as 17 million civilians including the genocide of an estimated six million Jews, a crime known as the Holocaust.

Results' Reflections

Hi to all! Sorry I have not been updating my blog lately due to my travelling. Now I am going to tell you my reflection on my results......

It has been a disappointing term for me, *sigh*,and I hope to wake up from my holiday mood and start studying, DAMN HARD, to lower my freakishly high Mean Subject Grade.I am having a mental block, preventing me from studying real hard...Now I am just trying to rest my brain a little to keep it dormant and not to active, or in other words "gear up".I am just trying to relax and hopefully , try to do better than my 1st term , and I reiterate my point again,"I hope to wake up from my holiday mood and start studying, DAMN HARD to lower my freakishly high Mean Subject Grade."It was so disappointing that I almost broke down in tears on realising my LOW english marks and my soul said to me," HEY, you sleeping child!Wake up from your dreams and start realising the truth man!Just face the reality!!"That was so freakish,my soul screaming in my eardrums, literally. That was a crazy experience.

I did so badly for my English.I was so disappointed in myself. Then I suddenly remembered something that really was effective in waking my up."This is just the first term, what about the second, third and even the End-Of -Year Examinations??Are you just going to continue slacking for this year until you have failed your examinations??When are you going to study hard and really spend more time in studying, instead of playing and watching movies???" My mum said to me last year in Primary 6.Rebellious as I was last year,I did not heed her advice but finally realised after a few prelims that my grades are dropping and my results were deteriorating,DRASTICALLY!!!

That was the story of me when I was in P6.Now I have set some concrete rules to help me in my time management and in spending more time on studying.

1) Spend more time studying and not just think of PLay,PLAy and PLAY!!!Have more initiative to learn and not just sit back, relax, and wait for miracles to happen.

2)Do more Literature Assignments every week instead of doing only one per week to increase the understanding of the texts and the questions that they would usually ask better.

3)Spend more time on knowing the answering technique and how to answer the questions straight to the point instead of beating about the bush.

MY TARGET::::

1) To lower my Mean Subject Grade compared to first term.

2) To spend more time doing homework instead of rushing through it.

3) Shout a 'YAY!' when I realise my good results for the end of the term.

The Lottery: Relevance to today's society

After reading the text on the Lottery,I had many questions and feelings going on in my mind, causing me to stop whatever I was doing and think in more depth. Click here for the link to The Lottery by Shirley Jackson.

First of all, I would just want to say how it is relevant to our today's society. In what ways are the themes of the Lottery related to the present and probably the future, you may ask.

Firstly, Man's infixed evil. How is this related to the story and our present society? Evil is always innate in us , just that we had yet to find out.Evil is the devil among us,causing us to do all sorts of bad deeds and actions. This will not only harm ourselves but also harm those that are around us, causing them to be emotionally, and probably physically hurt by our bad deeds. The bad side of us , which is not usually shown , can be reflected clearly in The Lottery. This is so when the villagers were basically devouring a member of its own community by stoning Tessie Hutchinson. Without sparing a thought for her feelings, they stoned her and thus causing her to be the sole exclusion to give the remaining community members a bonding and fun experience, from the villagers' point of view. If others from other villages pass by this village and find out what they are doing to one of their village members, what would they think???? Would they think it positively or negatively?? They would feel that this village is a village filled with an evil atmosphere in the air, spreading around to all the villagers from the quote "Old Man Warner was saying," Come on, come on,everyone.".This village is too possessed with all the evil thoughts ,that the villagers in this village do not know how to respect other's feelings and they do not even give a thought about the remorse that he / she would feel after stoning their own village member.

Secondly, the destructive nature of ancient rituals. Ancient rituals, which means rituals that have long been forgotten, were destructive and were harmful to mankind. Thus, the rituals were slowly forgotten. Then causing the mankind to work together as a team , to spare a thought for others and to show a good side at all times. The destructive nature of ancient rituals are shown so clearly from The Lottery,"Mrs Hutchinson screamed, and then they were upon her." Do the villagers spare a thought for her before stoning her with the most anciewnt sacrificial weapon--stones? No, they do not. They just take advantage of the destructive nature of the stones, the mass, to kill someone. With the destructive nature of the stoning, they over rely on the stonbes to kill someone, and not invent new items that are less destructive that the most ancient sacrificial weapon--stones.Also as the ritual has been incorporated for more than 50 years, they are used to it and thus thay take it as a norm that people doit just for the skae of finishinmg the ancient ritual by using stones, so that thay would be able to kill the person easier and so that they could quickly go back to their normal lives after the ritual.

Hwa Chong Assembly On Monday

Hi!Sorry I was quite busy last few days,so as a result,I did not post any blogs...Regarding the assembly in Hwa Chong on Monday, which was yesterday,we were talking about the rules in Hwa Chong : Are they too strict or too lax???

Personally,I think that the rules in Hwa Chong are O.K. and they are neither too lax nor too strict.Although this is the case, there are still some flaws about the rules in Hwa Chong.

The flaws include:

1)When I went past some Secondary 2 classrooms in the morning at about 6.45 a.m.,i could observe the Secondary 2 Hwa Chong students being very rowdy in their classrooms and they were also playing electronic games such as Playstation Portable (PSP) and on their handphones as the handphones might contain games .

The culprits should be caught red-handed when they are playing their games on eletronic devices to make them realise their mistake and their folly so that they would not continue to play their electronic devices or their handphones in their classrooms before, during and after their lessons.I think that more teachers should walk around the school to increase the chances of catching the culprits and punishing them severely.
The teachers should be assigned and designated to every level of the in the High School section of Hwa Chong's classes to patrol up and down the aisle to catch the culprits playing their electronic devices red-handed.More severe punishments should be implemented so that the students would be deterred from playing their electronic devices or their games on the handphones.

2)Students are observed to queue-cut in Hwa Chong canteen especially the upper secondary, asking their friends to allow them to enter the queue discreetly without anyone else in the queue knowing. Also, some of them come to the queue and "beg" their friends to help them to buy food while giving their friends the money to help them buy the food. This is a very common sight every day in the canteen as more and more students are cutting the queue as they see it as ordinary and they thought that there is no mistake in doing so as the upper secondary are doing so to.

My solution to solve this problem is to implement more measures such as teachers patrolling around in the canteen and if anyone cuts the queue, the teacher patrolling the canteen can go up and warn the boy that what he was doing is wrong and that he would be punished if any more other teachers see him queue-cutting .Demerit points should be given to those who cut the queue so that there would be a prevention of queue-cutting while detering others to follow suit and cut the queue .Others are so obedient and follow the queue and wait patiently for their turn .

I shall post the good side of the Hwa Chong rules by the end of this week (if possible)...

Thank You!
